Ozelot Green
Echinodorus 'Ozelot Green'
A bold rosette plant with spotted leaves that thrives even under low light.

About
A cultivated variety of the popular Ozelot line, Echinodorus 'Ozelot Green' is a freshwater rosette plant bred for the aquarium trade rather than collected from the wild. It produces broad, light-green leaves marked with darker spots that create a noticeable contrast across the leaf surface, and the wavy, fluted edges of each leaf give it a bit more visual texture than a plain broad-leaf sword. At maturity the plant forms a sizable rosette that spreads generously sideways as well as upward, so it works best positioned toward the back of the tank where it has room to fill out without blocking smaller foreground plants. Like other Echinodorus cultivars, this one is genuinely forgiving. Low light is sufficient to keep it healthy, and it adapts to a wide range of water conditions without much fuss. Where it really rewards a little extra effort is in the substrate: a nutrient-rich bottom layer encourages noticeably faster, lusher growth, which is worth keeping in mind when you're setting up or replanting. If you're newer to planted tanks and want a large background plant that won't punish beginner mistakes, this is a solid choice that delivers a full, leafy look without demanding specialist conditions.
