The spotted danio (Brachydanio nigrofasciatus) is a small, slender fish from the rivers of northern Myanmar that was once a regular sight in the aquarium trade but has become genuinely scarce over the past few decades, making it something of a find for hobbyists who track one down. Visually, it can be distinguished from close relatives like the zebrafish by its spotted anal fin, a narrower central lateral stripe, and the absence of a longitudinal stripe in the position above it.
