Fuzzy Table Coral (Acropora paniculata) is one of those corals that commands attention through sheer scale rather than flashy coloration. In the wild, colonies develop into broad, flat plates or table structures that can easily exceed a meter across while staying relatively thin. Around 25 millimeters in depth. The upper surface is densely packed with short, compact branchlets topped by long tubular axial corallites, which gives the whole colony that characteristic fuzzy or bristled appearance the common name hints at. The underside is smoother, with radial corallites sitting flush against the lower branchlets. Color-wise, expect creams, grays, or muted blues. Understated tones that actually complement a well-lit reef display nicely. This species comes from upper reef slopes, which tells you a lot about what it needs in captivity: intense lighting and robust water movement are not optional. Like most Acropora, it falls firmly into advanced territory and is best attempted by reefers who already have stable, mature systems and experience dialing in flow and light for demanding SPS corals. It is reef safe and poses no threat to other inhabitants, but its size potential means you'll want to think carefully about placement and long-term space before adding one to the tank.
